Jerusalem artichoke is a unique perennial highly valued in beekeeping as a strong and steady late honey plant. It blooms brightly in August and September, when most other nectar crops have finished, giving the bees a supporting flow before winter. In good conditions it is enormously productive and can yield up to 600 kg of healing honey per hectare, helping colonies build strength and stores for winter.

Health and the farm

Beyond its value for the apiary, Jerusalem artichoke has a remarkable natural property: it is perhaps the only plant that does not take up radiation, nitrates, heavy metals and other harmful substances from soil and air. Its tubers are a true concentrate of health, rich in inulin (a natural analogue of insulin), vitamins and micronutrients. They help lower blood sugar, remove toxins and strengthen immunity. The green mass is excellent nutritious fodder for livestock, and the strong root system protects soil from erosion, making this crop an ideal choice for an environmentally clean farm.
