Sleeping on beehives (aeroapitherapy) is a wellness treatment where you rest or sleep in a special wooden cabin (apidomic) placed directly above the hives.
How it works
- Apidomic — a small wooden room with a sleeping place above the hives (usually 4–8 or more bee colonies).
- Safety — bees cannot enter: mesh and partitions prevent contact and stings.
- Micro-vibrations — the hum and wingbeat create a gentle micro-massage effect.
- Aromatherapy — the air is rich with vapours of honey, propolis, wax, bee bread and essential oils.
- Warmth — the hives keep the colony’s natural temperature around 35 °C, softly warming the body.
Benefits
- Nervous system — helps ease stress, insomnia, neuroses and fatigue.
- Heart and blood pressure — may support more balanced blood pressure and better circulation.
- Breathing — may help with chronic bronchitis, asthma and frequent colds.
Duration: usually 40–120 minutes. Many people find that 1.5–2 hours of this rest feel comparable to deep night sleep.
Contraindications
- allergy or individual intolerance to bee products (honey, propolis, pollen, bee venom);
- acute infectious disease or flare-up of a serious chronic condition.
